GOOD LUCK
Four leaf clover is a traditional symbol of luck which I am sending to everyone this week:
Good luck to everyone doing exams this week, which is just about all of you:
Verona B1, C1 and C2LM students are starting orals so remember that this is your chance to show your examiners how “natural” your English is: concentrate on communicating with the teacher and with your partner: speaking is negotiated discourse, which means listening to each other and commenting on what other people say.
The Bolzano CAE group are coming up to the written test so good luck to you too ![]()
Remember to be careful with:
1) timing: maybe do the sections you are more confident about first;
2) answer sheets: leave yourselves enough time to transfer your answers to the sheets. Do it after each section;
3) remember not to agonize over one answer that you don’t know, which only wastes time: go on to the next question.
4) read the instructions carefully, even though you know what to do. It doesn’t hurt to read it again.
Whichever exam you are doing my thoughts are with you and use the test to show do your very best, which you are ALL capable of
Remind yourself of why you want to do this exam in English and what you love about the language.
To all the students in Bolzano who are doing the CAE orals on Friday.. Good luck ![]()
Remember: relax and talk as naturally as you can. Listen to your partner and talk about things in as interesting a way as you can.
If you know who you’ll be doing the test with, maybe meet up earlier for a coffee (or something) and start chatting in English first, just to break the ice. I’ll be with you in my thoughts anyway.
See you all on Saturday
This is just to tell the Verona students that I’ll be doing an extra “ricevimento” next week on Wednesday (May 22) from 11.000 – 13.00 at the Cla (NOT Via Paradiso) NOT ON TUESDAY as that is San Zeno and the uni is closed.

Dear all,
I am gradually getting more and more mobile but unfortunately I will not be in Bolzano on Friday 17th for the Blended Learning lesson
(. So, I wanted to update you on your next lessons:
CAE Preparation
Next lesson: Saturday 18th May (as usual)
Blended Learning (Face to Face)
Next lesson 24th May (Usual time and place)
We have to reschedule some of your Face to Face lessons because of my accident
PLEASE LOOK AT YOUR CLASS PAGES to see what, if anything, you need to prepare for your next lessons.
Some people have chosen to wait and do their final oral tests with me when I get back from my “accident”. I have now organised a room for this and it will be:
Monday May 20th
Sala Lettura (This is in the Cla not Via Paradiso, opposite the computer laboratory)
You should do the esam in the groups that we previously organised but I have made a noticeboard for each group to sign up on:
The Exam Results are out!
If you did a written exam last week the results are now out so go to your class page to check them
As soon as I am “mobile” again, I’ll organise a date for you to come and see your compositions and I would suggest you do this if you can as you can always learn from the comments on the test, even if you got a good mark, which I am pleased to say so many of you did
).
